The longer story

I didn't take the straight road into tech. I took the one through sales floors, highways and three countries, and it's why I build the way I do.

Sales first

I started out installing fire-protection systems as an apprentice, then spent the better part of a decade in sales. At Sprint I was promoted from associate to store manager in six months and led the store to the highest sales goals it had ever recorded, while training the team on our CRM and software. Later I ran regional B2B pipelines for corporate housing and technology solutions, and consulted for small businesses.

What I learned there still drives everything I do: listen first, find what the customer is actually trying to get done, and never promise what you can't deliver.

Then the road

I earned my CDL and hauled flatbed freight on regional routes: DOT compliance, tight schedules and loads that don't forgive shortcuts. It's the most "production" job I've ever had. Checklists exist for a reason.

Then overseas

My wife serves in the Air Force, so our family moves where the mission goes: first Japan, now Germany. In Japan I served as my unit's Key Spouse, the official link between the unit and its families during a deployment. I've run several international moves for our family, and I've learned to build a working home and routine from scratch, fast.

Those years are also when I got serious about technology. I finished an A.S. in Information Technology (American Military University, 2025), built a server, and started building the tools I wished existed, beginning with trading dashboards and ending with an entire operating system for our home.

Now

I design, build and run real systems, and I'm fluent at directing AI coding agents while owning the architecture, the review and the testing. I'm studying for the AWS Solutions Architect Associate every night (my own AI quizzes me) with CompTIA Network+, Security+ and Cloud+ next.

Where I'm headed: Solutions Engineering, the role where building and selling are the same job. You sit with a customer, understand what they're trying to do, and prove a solution works with a live demo. Or infrastructure and operations roles, where reliability is the product. Remote-friendly and comfortable across time zones.

Ventures & community

Papa Park's

Our family ventures: Provisions (scratch-made chili and lunch plates for events, with a rotating menu my customers vote on) and Pristine (residential power washing). Visit ↗

DependaBros

I founded a real-world friend network for male military spouses: one chapter per base, with a playbook so the next chapter can launch wherever we move. Facebook ↗

Red Cross

I volunteer with the American Red Cross, supporting community initiatives and disaster-response preparedness for the military community.

The mat

I hold a black belt in Shorinji Kempo. It's the thread through all of it: stay calm, read what's in front of you, and trust the reps you've put in. The market doesn't care about your feelings, and neither does your opponent.
